Review for ANIMAL SAVERS RESCUE INC, Doraville, GA, USA
My first volunteer experience was about a year ago. Margarita asked me to socialize the cats. What a trip! The place is clean, well-kept, and full of happy kitties (and sometimes a few dogs). I was amazed. And also saddened by the stories that came with the cats: dumped, abandoned, ill, dirty. Once brought in, they are cleaned up and taken to a vet for shots, neutering, and whatever else they need. Then returned to the shelter for socializing and assessing personality. Any sick cats or kittens have a special place where their medical needs can be met without infecting others. In the spring there are often kittens, sometimes with an ill or very frightened mother. These are especially rewarding, and they are adopted the very minute they are ready. I am so grateful to be a part of this organization!

Review for Huffman House, Inc., , ,
The people I interviewed on the phone were so grateful; many had little or no food, no jobs, and no transportation. Huffman House served all their needs - and with gracious smiles and compassion. What a gang of volunteers!

I discovered these folks in one of the Wildlife magazines that I subscribe to. I do NOT like losing animals of any kind - especially those that are such an important link in our way of life - and so I made a small contribution. And I learned a good bit about bats in return. The photographs they publish went a long way to help me understand. I commend every single person that is in any way connected with saving these tiny mammals.
