UPMC Shadyside values relationship-based care and practice. Our nurses see themselves as good neighbors in their hospital’s urban community, a part of Pittsburgh that is home to people from many walks of life, educational and income levels, and ethnic backgrounds. Within our community we have the good fortune of partnering with Global Links to extend our boundaries even further. Because of this relationship, both nurses and the communities prosper. Strengthening our ties to our local and even international community’s builds rapport and facilitates understanding of needs and the evolution of patient-centered initiatives. Thanks to the work we do with Global Links our nurses have embraced this interconnectedness and can be found in local, national and international venues.
