Review for Friends of Saguaro National Park Inc, Tucson, AZ, USA
I grew up in Tucson right at the edge of the Saguaro National Park. After many years, I returned to the park in fall of 2011 to participate in the National Geographic BioBlitz. I was grateful to find a park that has been beautifully cared for with outstanding facilities and faculty made possible with the support of the Friends of Saguaro National Park. With the rate that Tucson is developing and spreading I would imagine that, had it not been for Saguaro National Park, the Tucson mountains East and West would be nothing but housing and resort developments. This park contains plant life and species found few other places on Earth and fragile ecosystem that calls for the very special care that it is given. I am grateful that I have the Saguaro National Park to return to, as it was when I was a child. I credit Friends of Saguaro National Park and their mission to preserve this very special place.
