Review for Kehilat Hadar, New York, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Kehilat Hadar has been my primary spiritual community for the past 3 years. I attend services there every weekend and on holidays, as well as evening classes during the week, and retreats. The organization is entirely volunteer led, and recently restructured its leadership to be more sustainable and better able to provide programming. It is one of the leanest, most organized and responsible organizations I have ever been a part of, with an exceptional attention to detail.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my regular spiritual and religious life.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

continue to evolve its leadership structure.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the consistently high quality of everything that it does.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

creative, committed, and responsible.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

provide a meaningful traditional egalitarian experience for tens of thousands of Jews all around the United States.

Ways to make it better...

the organization could have met more often.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

how to transition from fully volunteer run to potentially including paid staff.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I wish all other organizations had volunteers that were this admirable.

Review for Hadar Institute, New York, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

*Spent a summer as a fellow in the only full time egalitarian yeshiva in North America *Learned how to study Talmud and Tanakh (bible) *Bonded with an incredible group of committed egalitarian Jews - perhaps the most amazing group of people I've been a part of in my life, where every single person was amazingly committed to the vision and future of serious egalitarian Judaism *Deepened relationships with numerous rabbis and teachers, many of whom I consider mentors and roll models about how to lead my religious, spiritual, and practical life

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my ability to be an praying, learning, thinking, and wrestling observant Jew.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

it's incredible commitment to people and their spiritual journeys.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

the most brilliant, gifted, committed, motivated, moral, trustworthy, and honest I've ever met.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change American Judaism for the better.
