Review for Project Night Night, San Francisco, CA, USA
My friend Kendra started PNN with a simple idea: she noticed how attached her then-newborn son was to his stuffed animals and books. It dawned on her that lots of kids in shelters might not be so lucky as to have these comfort items, or worse, they might have been separated from them in an emergency. She started collecting gently used items, packing them into totes and dropping them off at shelters. She roped in friends who started running collection items, and it grew and grew and grew. Now, organizations all over the country run collection drives and send Project Night Night totes to shelters in their area. We've supported PNN all along the way and have thrilled to see them win national recognition for their work. From what I can tell, PNN runs a very lean and effective organization.
