Review for ChildFund International, Richmond, VA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

First I will admit I haven't really given much thought to the 20%. To know that my kid is still benefiting from my donations and knowing he's cared about is what matters to me. The way I see it is, those kids need us and without ChildFund, we'd never have them. We'd never be able to help them. Let's just say for instance the CEO/ChildFund are doing wrong by our donations and keeping to much for them, as a servant for God it's not my place to judge what they do, God will handle them if he sees His people taking away from His children. I am confident that my donation still helps my sponsored child more than if I didn't donate at all. --- My overall experience has been great with CF. Someday I hope to be able to volunteer with CF in Honduras. God Bless you all for helping all of God's children. I would recommend CF in a heartbeat if it means another children will be cared for.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Open up a CF in Mongolia. One of the most beautiful countries in the would desperately need education on aids/HIV while the population is still lowly affected. By 2015, without outreach, they believe this will double. Children are sleeping in man-holes(sewers under streets). This land locked country needs our help very badly.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2012

What specific problem, purpose, priority, or project prompted your gift?

I've always loved to give and I served on a mission trip to Honduras and just fell in love with the beautiful people there. The kids were just so kinda and well mannered. Although behavior varies from location to location, the village I went to was just so awesome.

Why did you make your donation at this time?

Now is better than never.

What would you tell others about this organization?

I would first show them my letters and picture of my child. I would share with them what CF does in villages and how they have helped in the past. I wouldn't cover up any of the current concerns that the general donor population have, but I would advise them to seek their own opinion by reading the stats posted on the website and I would remind them it's about giving.
