Review for Pet Partners, Bellevue, WA, USA
My original contact with Pet Partners (Delta Society) was early 1990s by speaking with an therapy animal organization in Knoxville, TN. When I told the leader that I had a Doberman Pinscher, he was of the opinion that this breed would not be a suitable candidate for human-animal interaction therapy. Well, currently (2017) my wife & I have trained and provided therapy dog services with six Dobermans. The most recent three Dobermans have been certified by Pet Partners in Clarksville, TN affiliated with our local PP affiliate (Tender Paws). All six of our Dobermans have been trained off-leash by me and on-leash by my wife. Pet Partners has not shown bias to our breed, but held us to the same level of accountability as other handler-dog candidates. Contrary to the opinion of my 1st contact with Delta Society, the Doberman Pinscher happens to be among the most sensitive to human suffering, both physical & mental. It takes more time & effort to train a high energy breed, but the effort has been worth it, as exemplified by the 1000's of human-animal interactions we have experienced. Our current Bentley serves in our local hospital, including patients in ICU and CCU. Henry Ramser-Retired school and child clinical psychologist
