Review for ChildFund International, Richmond, VA, USA
To the Staff person at ChildFund writing replies: First of all, thank you for your concerns and responses. Please state as of Feb. 2012 what the salary for your CEO is. Please state the amount of all other benefits to her: amount of health coverage paid by org., her pension, auto allowance, any other financial benefit. Is your Board aware of all the negative publicity concening your CEO's salary and benefits? Is your Board aware that this compensation is deemed highly excessive by virtually all nonprofit standards? Is your Board award that this compensation is what is driving down your charity ratings? Does your Board have a justification as to why your CEO's reported salary is 50% of that of the President of the United States, the most demanding job in the world?

Thank you for taking the time to post your concerns. Our CEO’s salary can be found in our 990s, which are posted on our website. It includes the salary and compensation for our CEO, which is approved by our Board of Directors. The salary of our CEO is comparable to that of CEOs of other international nonprofits. These CEOs are running multi-million dollar international operations that endeavor to change the world. If you want to know more about the compensation of CEOs in the charity world, we would encourage you to read a report that was produced by Charity Navigator. ChildFund continues to maintain its 80-20 ratio, ensuring that more than 80 percent of every dollar goes to helping children
