Review for ChildFund International, Richmond, VA, USA
Been donating for about 3 years now when the charity had a 5 star rating. Since then it went down to 3 stars. I am really disgusted with the 20% service fee the Fund takes for being overstaffed and CEO compensation. Now with the $9 BIrthday card(more money for the CEO). I would stop giving, but that won't help my child. So I buy my own birthday card and mail it. As soon as my child is of age, I'm switching charities.

It's great that you monitor the rating of nonprofits. I do want you to know that ChildFund takes the rating seriously. We dropped in our rating mainly due to the economic climate in that we are also judged on rate of growth. Our percentage spent on services actually increased as did the progress we have made. I would enjoy talking to you if you would like to contact me. I hold our donors in very high regard for your kindess in reaching out to children.
