I am proud of the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. I am also proud that they have severed their links to Planned Parenthood. I was in a Common Ground group with the head of NYC's Planned Parenthood years ago and found them to be the ones with the political agenda, who cared more about protecting their agenda than doing what was best for women. They would not allow anyone to say that abortions were ever unwise, unnecessary, or even worthy of grieving. Other cultures (such as Japan) allow women to grieve over the death of the child they have aborted, and admit that they have done something bad, even if they considered it necessary. PP fights to keep any acknowledgement that an abortion is any different than a tooth extraction from the public sentiment.
