As a breast cancer survivor, my charitable goals have centered around ways to help others with early detection and treatment. I have volunteered on breast cancer walks to fund mammograms, started several "pink tie" charitable events and donated a percentage of my business' proceeds each October (Breast Cancer Awareness month) to SGK. For me, this is about improving women's health and potentially saving lives. Politics has no place in this discussion. No matter what spin SGK tries to put on their decision to pull funding for breast examinations and awareness/education efforts about breast cancer being performed by Planned Parenthood, it is clearly politically motivated. My donations to this group cease immediately. Today my financial support was pledged to the Breast Health Emergency Fund at Planned Parenthood.
