I had reservations about my volunteerism & donations to Race for the Cure over the years, especially after reading some of "Pink Ribbon Blues". However, I typically look to the people who are served as the way to determine my participation . With pull back of funding from Planned Parenthood, which serves the health needs of women including poor women, I can no longer support Race for the Cure. My family & friends won't either - huge discussion about this already. I read the "message" Race for the Cure sent out explaining their "decision" - total spin doctor stuff. It's upsetting an important cause is being diminished by the bozos in DC. and their willing accomplices at "Race". I can only say - "may God have mercy on your soul". My donations/participation that went to Race go elsewhere now.
