My Nonprofit Reviews

Dream A Dream
Review for The YP Foundation, New Delhi, , India
I have been a mentor to Ishita, the Co-founder and Managing Trustee of The YP Foundation for about 3 years now. I have been tremendously inspired by the Vision, Maturity and Energy of Ishita and this is also reflected in every member of the foundation - be the staff or volunteers. The YP Foundation is the only youth-led organization that provides a space for urban young people to explore, express and do something about issues that affect their daily lives. I think this make YP Foundation very unique. The attitudinal change that I have seen in some of these young college students is remarkable and The YP Foundation has actually being able to channelize their potential in the direction of social change.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
In the tremendous growth shown by the organization in the last 3 years. In the confidence shown by the young volunteers and in the projects that they have been able to build - be it revolving around sexuality, street children, arts and culture, etc.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
like to see a YP chapter in every nook and corner of India.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the energy, passion and action orientation of everyone associated with the organization. I have enjoyed the debates, the questions and the hunger for learning that I have seen in these young people. Its truly a youth-led movement.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
passionate, driven, confident and action oriented. They all had this intense desire to bring about remarkable changes in the world around us.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Reach out to a million young people from across the country.
Ways to make it better...
I would have been based in Delhi and saw the organization at close quarters.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
How do they keep the spirit of the youth-led movement and at the same time create a professional, result-driven institution.
One thing I'd also say is that...
Over the next few years, the YP Foundation is going to ensure that young people are shaping the future of this country positively and brilliantly.

Toybank is an organization with tremendous passion, commitment and drive to bring about happiness in the lives of children from under-privileged backgrounds. It is one of the few organizations where one can feel the energy the minute you meet the team. It is a team with a heart who wants to make every child happy, very happy!
