Review for Progressive Animal Welfare Society of Bainbridge Island & North Kitsap, Bainbridge Is, WA, USA
I lived overseas for 11 years, and have seen severe neglect of animals from Mexico to China, and from Russia to the Ukraine. While living in Russia there were many times we were able to rescue kittens from horrible situations, but finding homes or safe places for them was difficult, and most of the time we knew their situation even in the future could be a very bleak one. Most of these places did not promote spaying and neutering pets, and had no organizations to help in rescue situations. Since moving back to the U.S. in 2004, there have been several times I've had to call on PAWS of Bainbridge Island to help with cats or kittens that we'd rescued, found, or been given by people who allowed them to be brought into this world but didn't care about them. PAWS has ALWAYS been accommodating and helpful, and even kept in contact to let me know when they were adopted. I donate when I can, and am so thankful for all the cats (and people) they've helped out!
