My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Carolinas Great Pyrenees Rescue Inc, Indian Trail, NC, USA
My husband and I have adopted 2 Great Pyrenees from the Carolina Great Pyrenees Rescue and wish we could win and then donate tons of money to help this deserving and extremely caring organization. Martha
Rehmeyer almost single-handedly rescues 100+ Great Pyrenees each year and then provides attentive care before trying to place in a network of approved foster homes. More homes are always needed but Martha is tireless in her pursuit of saving these gentle giants from a horrible outcome. Martha is on the job 24/7 from taking calls from shelters and individuals trying to place Pyerenees to finding foster homes, to locating just the right permanent homes for these animals. When visiting her home, we've often encountered a litter of puppies that she's bottle feeding around the clock while skillfully juggling the needs of all of the dogs who are in her rescue (at her home) awaiting fosters or permanent placement. My two dogs (Mandy and Cody) are so loving and have changed my family's life for the better. I wish there were 2 Martha's so that she could take a break from time to time.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Adopting from the group, attending fund-raising events, and volunteering - as well as staying in touch on occasion with the rescue leader about dogs needing homes.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Provide them with more $, foster homes, and clone leader Martha Rehmeyer.
