Review for Girls Write Now, Inc., New York, NY, USA
I'm a published novelist and a professor of English and creative writing at a university just outside NYC, so I'd heard about Girls Write Now and its mentoring work. Having attended one of its events, I can vouch for the quality of the writing of the young women who are mentored through this organization. The professionalism of the event I attended, the evident enthusiasm of its leaders, and the liveliness I experienced that afternoon made me an instant and confirmed fan of GWN. This is a nonprofit attuned to the needs, contexts, and challenges of young women--and it knows how to find the right people to make a difference.

quick on their feet, welcoming, able to summarize what they're doing--and what they want for GWN--in a few smart words, and very excited about what the organization has already done and is planning on doing.
