I had a chance to tour this facility a few months ago and was immensely impressed. I was unaware that such an amazing place existed not to mention that such an amazing sanctuary for deserving apes was being provided with such little support from the community at large. The facilities are so carefully planned and take into considerations the needs of all the ape residents in light of the weather conditions they are subject to. The Center for Great Apes staff goes to incredible lengths to ensure that the animals in their care have all the comforts needed to enjoy their retirement years. The staff is professional, knowlegeable, courteous and dedicated. After having toured this facility, I was compelled to become a donor for many years to come.
