Review for Center for Animal Research and Education Inc, Bridgeport, TX, USA
I love the CARE for the wonderful work they do in giving a loving home to big cats. They take in cats that have been purchased by individuals who under estimated how difficult it is to properly care for the animals. They know each one and all thier likes and dislikes. Some have been mistreated by previous owners, some abandoned, some just found they couldn't continue to care for them and so gave them up to CARE. They perform and colaborate on research to better preserve Big Cats in the wild, find the causes and treatment for centain genetic problems. Presently they are researching the causes and treatment of vitamin A defency in Lions. I highly recommend donating to CARE for thier quality of care and thier love of the animals they serve.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
The health and overall happiness of the animals. They have large, clean enclosures. They upgrade the enclosures as much as anyone could with the funds they have. The volunteers are eager to be there and if I didn't live so far away I would be one of them. They serve an essential service for these awesome animals who otherwise would be euthanized or otherwise live more miserable lives.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Get them a better Water supply, they are in desparate need of a new well to ease the hot Texas sun for thier cats, espeacially the tigers. They could use more enrichment within the enclosures like bolders, caves and trees for the leopards. Even so I know they do the best they can with the resources they have.

How did you learn about this organization?
Internet search for a big cat rescue organization to visit and donate to. There are several around the Dallas area. I have visited almost all of them and CARE is my favorite. Because of they have a unique blend of friendliness with donars and visitors and great care and tenderness for the animals they have charge of. I have toured other sites and CARE is my favorite.
