Review for League For Animals And People Of The Summit, Frisco, CO, USA

Rating: 5 stars

League for Animals & People of the Summit has a mission that most people agree with: to prevent the needless euthanasia of unwanted or needy pets. L.A.P.S. was formed in 1991 to help finance spay/neuter procedures for pets of low income local individuals, but has expanded to include aid for most medical/surgical vet bills also. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit supported solely by memberships, fundraisers, donations and grants. Among our annual fundraisers is the Canine 4K with over 200 dogs/250 people racing around Frisco, CO. The winter event, DogTerra, showcases ski jor lessons/race, agility courses in the snow, snowshoeing and frisbee contests. Everyone has fun outside with their furry kids, while raising money for the needy pets in our county. We are an all-volunteer organization with no office space or equipment except our personal computers etc. Nearly 100% of all money raised, goes right back to our community each year. We have fun with all the smaller fundraisers and lifelong friends are made in the process. Helping people who don't have any options for paying for high vet bills and saving them the heartache of putting down their beloved pet or watching them in pain, just for the lack of money, touches your heart and makes all the work well worth it.
