Review for Child Advocates - Denver Casa, Denver, CO, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been volunteering with Denver CASA since 2015. I love the mission and work to support young people in the child welfare system and feel supported by the talented team and staff. Earlier this year I joined the board of directors to continue serving in a new capacity.

Review for Freedom Service Dogs, Inc., Englewood, CO, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My volunteering experience at Freedom Service Dogs (FSD) has helped me to realize the important role animals play in the development and recovery of humans. I have seen first-hand the life changing effect that service dogs have on individuals with physical or emotional difficulties. Without an organization like FSD, many returning veterans, children and others wouldn't be able to live fulfilling and rich lives.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

adoption of one of their rescued dogs who did not make it through the program. Ka'ipo was rescued by Freedom Service Dogs (FSD) from the Boulder Humane Society, and was released from the FSD program because of a small health issue. Every day I am blessed in having such an amazing companion, and knowing that adopting him from FSD supported their mission.

Role:  Volunteer & I have helped develop a fundraising calendar for FSD, generating funds and raising awareness of the organization. In addition, I have assisted with sales and marketing of the calendar.
