Review for Alamo Area Partners for Animalwelfare, San Antonio, TX, USA
I moved here as a military dependent two years ago. I have a graduate degree in Canine/Human Interaction, and have been involved in animal rescue for years. Knowing virtually nothing about the animal welfare community at first, I started searching the web for the organization that seemed to have the best reputation. AAPAW - Alamo Area Partners for Animal Welfare repeatedly came out on top. I joined, and for the past two years have found that there is no group more reputable, compassionate, and fully of integrity than AAPAW. They consistantly hold high standards for all their animal welfare events, including how they treat both volunteers and, of course, the animals. They have excellent leadership and put countless hours into doing everything possible to help the animals in this city, which unfortunately has a huge stray population problem. AAPAW never gives up trying to amend this situation through education, adoption events, working with local animal control to form a cohesive group, etc - and they do it purely as volunteers. It is an organization that has helped thousands of stray animals and local rescues, and I am proud to be affiliated with them.
