I had visited the Wild Animal Sanctuary a few times over the past couple of years, and worked there as an intern this winter. It is truly an amazing place -the animals are provided with a high-quality life in stark contrast to the lives they lived before. This organization provides great care for around 300 animals -proper nutrition and medication, enrichment, housing and more. The staff and volunteers are hard-working, great people. As an intern, I saw the dedication and huge effort TWAS puts into its animals. As a visitor, I became aware of the captive wildlife crisis. The experience of visiting TWAS is life-changing; people really care and are touched by both the animals and the people involved.
