I will never forget my first visit there over 9 years ago, it was the most amazing experience I think I have ever had and one that was also very emotional. Reading the rescue stories and the horrific conditions the animals were forced to live in were heartbreaking. How could any human be so cruel? How could any animal recover from the abuse? I could only read a few stories at a time. I would visit at least once a week and read more stories and just cry for the animals and what they went through. But then you see the animals and how they are living now! What an amazing transformation for so many lives! They are happy, healthy and living in peace. Hopefully their pain and suffering and all they endured have been erased from their memories. The Sanctuary and everyone involved are truly the most caring people I have ever met. The animals come first for everyone and that sentiment comes from the top down! If you have never been you need to go, and trust me, you will wonder why you have not been. And for me, I visited a long time ago and have never left! It will make your heart full to see how wonderful the animals live! This is an experience nobody can explain, you have to see it first hand. Truly an amazing place! I encourage everyone to go and to also support the animals! You will feel good about helping! They need our voice!

This place is the best place! The most amazing animals now have a good home, free of fear, abuse and starvation! It is very difficult to read the stories of where these animals came from, it brings you to tears. Knowing what they lived like prior to going to the sanctuary and now to see them roam free in a natural habitat is so very heart warming! They do what they want to do! This is truly about the animals and you can see they are very happy! No longer are these animals going to suffer from the human hand. It is so sad many humans feel these animals were put on this earth to entertain us, or to be our pets, or whatever other sick purpose. It is great to see that finally, these animals can live the rest of their lives in peace, and know that they are ok now.

This is the most amazing place and the animals are so happy. You can see the transformation in animals from the time they come in from horrific situations to knowing they are no longer going to be abused. If you are an animal person you know when you see a happy animal, and these animals are very happy! The staff uses the volunteers wisely, we are on a rotation so all of us learn the inner workings of what it takes to take care of these wonderful animals. There is always something to do, and everything we do is purposeful, from helping prepare meals, feeding, cleaning, watering, talking to the public, doing upkeep, etc. It is amazing how much work it takes to take care of these animals and this is the most satifying experience I have ever had in my life! I go away happy, knowing I helped make a difference in the lives of these animals!
