Review for Young Life, Colorado Springs, CO, USA
I went to YL in high school and later in college was a volunteer leader in North Carolina. I then went on to help start YL in Greenwood, S.C. and volunteered there as well. I later moved to Nth Carolina and went on staff for YL. I have personally seen YL save lives. I have seen kids lost in the craziness of their own lives learn to make better choices because a YL leader served as a positive role model for them. My one incredible story that stands out is when a kid at a pretty rough school was going to be arrested for starting a fight. The kid was suposed to go to a YL camp for the weekend. I personally went and asked if we could just have the kid for one weekend....to show him life....good clean fun....that kid came with us to a YL camp and was a different kid by Monday. He truly turned his life around! Young Life is about building relationships! Young Life is about good clean fun! Young Life is about people volunteering to give their lives away so that our youth might have a chance. Young Life does an incredible job in helping teenagers!
