My Nonprofit Reviews
Susan Bellonzi
Review for Shadow Cats Rescue, Round Rock, TX, USA
Shadow Cats is best known for their remarkable work with chronically ill, injured, and often unadoptable cats. But they also provide a critical secondary service - one that benefits those of us doing rescue work, TNR, and homeless cats colony management all over Texas and the rest of the nation.
Simply put, they are the "go to" free advisors for the rest of us. There is virtually nothing cat related they haven't encountered and dealt with. Whether it's questions about medical issues, advocacy with governmental entities, resources for emergency situations, or special trapping techniques for a specific animal, Shadow Cats consistently is there for us.
Their work with special needs cats is reason enough to support them. (Yes, I'm a donor, as well as a service recipient.) But understand that through their willingness to help the rest of us, they benefit the lives of many hundreds (and probably thousands) of other cats that never show up at their sanctuary. I have worked in the nonprofit world, and with animals throughout my life. I have never seen as dedicated, helpful, and effective a nonprofit as Shadow Cats.
Review for Big Cat Rescue, Corp., Odessa, FL, USA
Big Cat Rescue providesa humane, nurturing home for many species of big cats. Additionally, they serves as national leader in the struggle to (1) educate the public about these magnificent animals and the steps necessary to protect them, (2) recruit and inform individuals to advocate for these animals, and (3) provide guidance to the staff of smaller sanctuaries who may lack the experience, expertise, or resources to handle a particular problem.
