Review for Teen Challenge of East Tennessee, Knoxville, TN, USA
I am on a ministry team in women in jail. Teen Challenge is one of our best resources not only for rehabilitation but for programming, counseling, and literate. Barbara, Lou, and staff are very easy to work with and as we serve our population we can refer them to Teen Challenge with confidence - confidence in follow through, appropriate placement, and outcome. Barbara and usually a woman who has successfully completed the rehabilitation program go into the jail with us once a quarter. I is always one of the most inspiring and motiving sessions we have.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
talking to women who have been placed in drug rehab by Teen Challenge and seen the changes in their lives. Lives are being changed by the Lord. We recognize that change is a process - a journey.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
clone Lou and Barbara. The community needs more Christian counselors, and I fear the day that Lou has to retire.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The willingness to Teen Challenge to assist our team in a loving, non judgmental manner. They are not competitive, but concerned only about the change in the women in relationship to Christ.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Director, Counselor, intake staff, secretarial, staff at Crisis house
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
use it in service to more people who have the "monkey" of drugs and alchol on their back. I believe this staff would use very little on overhead, and most of it in service to their clientele.
Ways to make it better...
we had more money to use in assisting Teen Challenge in the needs for placement for our clientele.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
money, money, money.
One thing I'd also say is that...
It is wonderful to work with people who are submissive to the will of God.
