Review for Society of St. Andrew, Big Island, VA, USA
We gleaned turnip greens yesterday. The farmer has a small field that he uses mostly for his family and neighbors, but said he tends to plant more than they can use and more than he has time to pick to even give away. He had seen an article in the Charlotte Observer a few days ago and realized that SoSA would be perfect for picking and distributing his produce. He gave the office a call and in two days we were in the field picking nearly 900 pounds, with lots left for another gleaning. Everyone wins in the gleaning world!
