As one who serves those who live in poverty from the perspective of the church, I find the gleaning efforts of the Society of St. Andrew to be truly helpful. It is wonderful for our food programs at the church to have those fresh foods and vegetables that would otherwise be thrown in the trash or not be other-wise used. And the fact that SoSA goes beyond the immediate needs to also have a focus on the long term causes of hunger and how to solve it increases my opinion of the program
