Review for Natural Villages, Sebastopol, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I met Johanna in Aug, 2009 in Santa Rosa, CA. I saw her and her team working diligently at one of the sites creating a wonderful cob home and earthen ovens!! For past couple of decades, Johanna is sincerely working towards introducing the Natural Earthen Building techniques to the Main Street... to the common man of the US... to THE 99%. Using these earthen techniques, people can build there own houses using readily available and extremely cheap raw materials like Mud, Clay, Straw etc. Buildings made by these materials are found to be resistant to powerful earth-quakes and storms...! The teaching expertise is here, all they need is more funds and recognition, so that they can crank it up and make these awesome earthen building techniques available to more and more people. I thank Johanna for toiling so hard on behalf of all Humanity to strive and keep these earthen building techniques alive and for working really hard and try and introduce these techniques to more people to make them self-dependent! I sincerely urge everyone to please help her mission and help Humanity.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Santa Rosa, CA.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

The group doesn't need changes... I think it needs more funds so that it can organize more and more of these workshops and change more and more lives of people. Thru these workshops, people can realize that a living can be possible without the back-breaking regulations and various manipulations of the Fed, Wall-Street and the Govt. This will truly EMPOWER the people.

What one change could this group make that would improve your volunteer experience?

Well, the group was blissful and attuned to Mother Earth. I coudnt have asked for more!!

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)

Yes!! Johanna taught me how to blend with Mother Nature and feel Her pulse!!

How did this volunteer experience make you feel?

Powerful, grateful and blissful. Powerful because I could build my own house with little dependence on regular resources like money and expensive raw material. Grateful because I chose to take an alternate path towards self-dependence free of DEBT, Mortgages, Deadlines, Litigations and Hassles. I could build my own house without significant external guidance and regulations. Blissful because I contributed in my own small way to help our ailing Mother Earth by contributing in reductions of cutting of trees, paper-work, Land-pollution and environmental pollution. The Natural earthen buildings made thru earthen techniques truly blend with the Mother Earth, leaving behind a beautiful earthen home.

Role:  Volunteer & I spent two days at Santa Rosa, CA doing Earth Peace Meditations and learning a few basics of earthen building techniques.
