Review for National Novel Writing Month, Berkeley, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My daughter introduced me to NaNoWriMo five years ago and I have participated (and won!) every year since that time. With great information and tremendous support, I am again writing --a novel every year! As I hone my craft and gain experience, I feel proud of my accomplishments and look forward to possible publication. I have been so encouraged by others who are on this same journey, many of whom are now published authors. Not only do adults participate, but this site has encouraged young writers across the globe. I involve more people every year, and am thrilled to spread the word that "Yes, you CAN write a novel!" The pep talks help us all stay on track and the challenge is profound and gets to me every year!

Review for Adirondack School Of Northeastern New York, Greenwich, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

We learned about this school during my daughter's sophomore year. She was bored and sleeping in the large classes of a public school and not motivated. The arts emphasis interested her, and after visiting we decided this was a good choice for her, with small classes the other main draw. She finished her junior year with grades in the high 80's and 90's, and is now starting her senior year and already has applied to a 4-year college.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

working together with the staff, students and families as we work on fundraisers, school work parties on the grounds, and in planning for the future of the school.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the director and teachers are wonderful and really care about each student as individuals. I like to see a young person grow and realize their potential, and this school does more to cause this than any other school I have ever come across.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

pay the staff better, provide more arts and special interest classes, improve the grounds, and this school would FLOURISH! It already has all the foundation needed to make a huge difference in the lives of many students!

Ways to make it better...

there were more students enrolled, and more families fully involved. We need the community to support the school, and need to find ways to provide a stronger financial foundation.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week
