Review for Wagner Farm Arboretum Inc, Warren Township, NJ, USA
I was attracted to the Community Garden specifically because it included a Giving Garden. My husband and I started by 'adopting' one, then two plots, growing vegetables for several food banks. We have since become involved in the distribution of produce to four additional clients, including two soup kitchens in local urban communities. The numbers of people fed daily by these locations number in the hundreds.

We have become friendly with the directors and chefs of these soup kitchens and food banks and have received much feedback regarding - e.g., how they used the tomatoes for salads and soups, how grateful they were for the hot peppers, how the okra is great for thickening the soups. They have also shared with us the increased demand, the closing of publicly funded food banks, and how the fresh produce helps them to provide varied, healthy meals.

Useful! Being able to provide healthy, fresh vegetables for people who usually get only canned, fattening, unhealthy food is very satisfying.
