My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Emmaus Community of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, USA
I initially came to this organization not realizing how it would become a part of my life. I was looking for a part-time job while I completed graduate school. As the sibling of an individual with an intellectual disability, I was drawn to the organization's mission. Now, many years later, I am still here and am continually awed by the dedication of the Emmaus Community. It is a true community. Our residents are at the heart of the work we do, the roots of the organization (it was started by a couple who had a child with an intellectual disability) continue to shape its philosophy of care and respect, and as it continues to grow, I have great faith in its future. These are the kind of people I would want to care for my own sister, if our family were not able, and I encourage anyone and everyone to learn more about the Emmaus Community. There is a place for everyone, be it as a volunteer, a donor, or a staff member. Please call to learn more about what we do! We would be glad to take you on a tour!
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
spending time with our residents.
