Review for Aim High, San Francisco, CA, USA
I am an Aim High graduate from 1995. I sincerely love the program for all the support and guidance I have been blessed with. Aim High has provided me with a safe place for learning and reflection! It has been the best educational experience I´ve ever had, constantly flourishing me with limitless opportunities for growth. As the daughter of working-class immigrants, I am the first in my family to graduate from college. Aim High has instilled confidence in me to achieve my goals and dreams. Aim High has allowed me the space to "ask questions" and engage with others by finding a deep inspiration through cultural affirmation and community organizing movements. Aim High has empowered me to pursue my interests in holistic health practices that address public health issues through a critical lens of ethnic, gender, and class analysis. As well as, promoting a localize sustainable food system, as one demand towards food sovereignty. what more can i say? The students that I've worked with have brought tears of frustration and JOY to my eyes... the reality is that, WE NEED AIM HIGH THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR! IN EVERY NEIGHBORHOOD, THROUGHOUT THE NATION! Aim High strives to bring EMPOWERMENT into the lives of our youth, whom are dealing with violence, drugs, educational inequalities....
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
my self-esteem, confidence and attitude.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
expand it to become a school-year program!
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the students, staff and community!
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
diverse, interesting, energetic, committed, and creative!!!!!!!!
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
develop the strength and full potential of thousands of young students, to create a healthier, sustainable, equitable opportunites for a better world.
Ways to make it better...
I could work full-time throughout the schoolyear and obtain my teaching credentials in an evening program.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
funding opportunites in these times of economic crisis...
One thing I'd also say is that...
I LOVE AIM HIGH!
