Review for Citymeals On Wheels, New York, NY, USA
This is one of the Best NY Meals program we have in NYC. Other then 1 complaint I see & hear only good things about this agency. The 1 problem is the salary pid to Ms. Marcia Stein. $285,340 + for an agency that should use all availible funds to help the hungry I think $285,000+ is just way to much. I see other agencies who solicite public money pay their Presidents (or what-ever they call themselves) do it for FAR less money. I find it hard to want to give my hard earned money when I see how much she's paid for a job that many others do for far less. It makes me think 2-3 times before I donate. I guess I would give more or more often if this wasn't such a sticking point.

Review for Partnership With Native Americans, Addison, TX, USA
I have donated before but my complaint is that I'm averaging 2-3 request letters a month. I find it very wastefull to send me repeat letters in the same month. Besides being wastefull I find it annoyingly pressuring. There has to be a way to cut down on the wastefull spending. AND ALL THE LABELS!. Stop with the Labels. If I mail 10 letters a day for the next 50 years I'd STILL have labels left. What would get me to donate would be a card with a Pie chart showing me how much money is spent on helping those in need, operating expenses & salaries. THOSE are the organizations I tend to send my $$ to first.

I am writing this note in behalf of National Relief Charities. We appreciate your note. You can find a pie chart showing how much is spent on helping those in need on page 15 of our 2010 annual report at http://www.nrcprograms.org/site/DocServer/2010_Annual_Report.pdf?docID=3062. In addition to the pie chart, that page shows that over $30 million a year goes to helping those in need. Our entire operating expenses and salaries (for over 300 people) cost only 2%. You also mentioned receiving a number of packages. If, at any time, you would like to receive fewer packages, just contact our donor relations team and let them know which programs you'd like to receive mail for and how often you'd like to be contacted. If you opt to become a monthly donor, that would also help reduce your mailings. The phone number is 800-416-8102. Thanks again.
Review for Food Bank For New York City, New York, NY, USA
I'm impressed with the amount that gets put out into the community but I'm a little disturbed about the amount paid to Lucy Cabrera. $249,596 is a little to steep of a salary especially at times like these when every penny donated, 1st priority should be for the homeless & needy. I guess I'd be more comfortable with a salary of $100,000, or even as high as $150K. The extra money saved on her pension should be spent on the ones we donate too. I'll donate this time but it will be my last time unless I notice a chand
