Review for Hugs Project Incorporated, Oklahoma City, OK, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been associated with The Hugs Project since 2004. All are volunteers and all have extremely unlimited huge hearts. Hundreds of thousands of cool ties (hugs) have been made by many of us and many more are made yearly. Our A.F. daughter was deployed twice and they came through with packages to help her fellow troops that did not receive support from home. When a call goes out for a needed item or to help, hundreds respond and are there to help. I've belonged to several military based organizations and The Hugs Project is by far the best. God Bless our troops, and The Hugs Project.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Not all were able to send a thank you, but I didn't do this to get a thank you. I did it to support our military and their families. They support us unconditionally, and it's the least i can do. The best thing I received from helping is knowing I may have brought a smile to someones day.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

They only change they need is more help. They are doing everything correctly.

Would you volunteer for this group again?

Definitely

For the time you spent, how much of an impact did you feel your work or activity had?

A lot

Did the organization use your time wisely?

Quite well

Would you recommend this group to a friend?

Definitely

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2011

What one change could this group make that would improve your volunteer experience?

If they were able to receive more money to send more packages. I still belileve packages to any military base overseas in a war zone should be sent entirely FREE.

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)

I've been able to "meet' internet people with big hearts.

How did this volunteer experience make you feel?

I felt like there are very many people in the world that truly do care, but they never make the headlines of the newspapers.

Role:  Volunteer & Sewed neck coolties, crocheted hats for winter, sent care packages, wrote letters, sent homemade cookies and goodies and personal items they needed.
