Review for Cambodian Children's Fund, Santa Monica, CA, USA
I got involved with Cambodian Children's Fund two years ago as a sponsor to seven girls. During three trips to Phnom Penh I have seen firsthand the profound impact CCF has had on their lives, and those of all the other CCF children, all of whom are among the poorest and most at-risk children in Cambodia. I have also seen how efficiently CCF uses each donated dollar so I agreed to joined the Board of Directors last November. Scott Neeson, the Executive Director of CCF, was president of Sony Pictures International prior to founding CCF in 2004. Since then, CCF has grown to incorporate three separate facilities, where over 300 children receive nutrition, housing, medical care, and a comprehensive educational program.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
- vastly improving the lives of extremely poor children in Cambodia. - addressing the health and nutritional needs of the families of those children, most of whom live next to the largest garbage dump in Cambodia.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
- seeing firsthand how the children absolutely flourish when given an opportunity to study, access to healthcare, and a sense of hope in their future.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
- truly dedicated to helping the children create better lives for themselves. The teachers provide a rigorous classroom experience in English, Khmer, computers, vocational training, as well as traditional Cambodian music and dance.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
- change the lives of so many more poor children, and their families.
Ways to make it better...
- CCF had sufficient financial resources to help the thousands of other Cambodian children who desperately want to be able to go to school.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
- raising sufficient financial resources to fund a variety of other programs that we have already identified to assist the poor.
