Review for Days for Girls International , Mt. Vernon, WA, USA
My daughter and I heard about Days for Girls and their hygiene kits for girls and women at Children's Hospitals 'Girls Only' class this summer. When the teacher told around 40 girls attending the class what the kits were for and then offered to let them see the kits, a mass of girls rushed down to see the kits and feel them and look them over. It was exciting for the mothers to see a sustainable / reusable / washable option. Soon afterwards my daughter decided to ask for her friends to make donations to DFG in lieu of gifts for her birthday party. She ordered her own kit and showed it at her party and successfully raised $310! It was fun educating my daughters friends and parents about the kits and how they are helping girls in need all over the world! Thank you DFG for making a difference.
What a great daughter you have! There aren't many young women who forgo birthday gifts to benefit other girls. We look forward to sharing the results of her generosity, and yours. Thank you for sharing her story and supporting Days for Girls. `
Review for Northshore Christian Academy, Everett, WA, USA
Last year we transferred from a wonderful Christian school in South Carolina to NCA in Washington State for the 2010-11 year. It was hard to leave our former school because it was small & very hands-on, but thankfully NCA has been fantastic. The teachers are organized, intelligent, Christ loving & adore the children. They have a personal investment in each child & really cared that our kids were comfortable at their new school. The best part, besides our sense of belonging & that our kids are doing so well, is the curriculum. In many areas NCA kids are learning at two grades level higher, plus Spanish & a musical instrument are part of their regular academics. We were happily surprised to learn over the summer that both our kids were advanced to a grade higher in math for this year. This school has a more advanced Science program, & it's good to know that our kids are learning about the environment, being green, & recycling (one area sorely lacking in SC). We appreciate the higher racial diversity here too. The Principal & Vice Principals are very involved & caring, and the Principal has an amazing memory of each child even though there are over 900 students. It's amazing here & we are truly pleased. We highly recommend NCA to others whenever we get the chance!
