Review for SHARON K PACHECO FOUNDATION, Aurora, CO, USA
My husband is deployed in Afghanistan and I searched for organizations that would help my family with Christmas gifts for my kids. They miss their daddy and because the economy is so bad I just couldn't afford gifts for Christmas. I heard about this organization through another spouse and contacted them. They were so wonderful! They registered our kids for a Christmas program they do, and a few days before Christmas, we got a big box filled with at least 3 gifts a piece for each child. I was expecting someone's used and unwanted toys, but every toy was new! They also sent a printout of an email from my husband wishing us a Merry Christmas! It was so moving! They didn't take credit for the toys but sent them on his behalf as though he had sent them himself which I thought was extra special. You don't often find people who go the extra mile to make your day without taking some sort of credit for it but the people at this organization not only made my day but went above and beyond what I expected. They were so kind and really made a difference in our lives especially during the holidays which are tough for families who have a loved one deployed and not home. Thanks to this organization and all its volunteers. They were wonderful!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
The personal interaction I had with the volunteers, and the receiving of the gifts for Christmas.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I have no idea. They were so timely and wonderful, I am unsure what I would say to offer constructive criticism. The only thing I can think of is the organization doing more to promote this program and their services so more military families can take advantage of what they do and share in the joy of my experience.

What, if any, change in your life has this group encouraged?
They have reminded me there are good people out there who still want to make a difference in the lives of others simply because they have the heart and compassion. They reminded me that this is what America is about, and my husband says "people like this are who I'm fighting for."
