When my son was diagnosed with autism at age 2, my husband and I were devastated and lost. Luckily, we were referred by the diagnosing physician to a parent seminar at Alpine Learning Group. We were able to sign up my son up for therapy through Alpine's outreach program, and it was a lifeline. Within 2 weeks, Kyle had learned how to point. You can't imagine how difficult it is to have a child who doesn't know how to communicate his basic wants and needs. From the pointing, it only got better. The Alpine therapists designed a whole program for Kyle, teaching him how to better function and communicate. He now knows the alphabet, his shapes, colors, and can respond appropriately to basic social questions. They even potty-trained him! Alpine also helped us figure out what the right educational placement was for him-- and I am so happy to say he just started going to Alpine's preschool this year. I am looking forward to my son's continued progress, which I have no doubt would not have been as profound if not for the wonderful people at Alpine Learning Group.
