Review for Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy, Tallahassee, FL, USA
The Teen Trendsetters™ program pairs high school teens with struggling 2nd and 3rd graders for weekly mentoring sessions. It centers on research-based reading curriculum and aims to boost a child’s reading level before he or she enters the standardized testing years. The program also promotes parent involvement through home literacy activities to be shared between parent and child. In addition they send the younger students home with 15-25 books a year.
