Review for Green Beret Foundation, Montgomery, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I am a spouse of a 24 year Green Beret. I went to the GBF in search of support for a very select group of people that many of the non -profits do not recognize as having needs and support. I'm talking about the Spouses and caregivers of our SOF warriors. GBF stepped up in our time of need and have supplied the support we needed to organize and run a support/resource and mentor program for our Caregivers of severely wounded injured or seriously ill warriors. Thank you Green Beret Foundation for your support. You stepped up 1st when there was no where to turn.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the benefits and support of our caregiver program the Steel Magnolia Caregiver program. GBF is obtaining a trike for the husband of one of our caregivers. GBF has supplied much advice and guidance in organizing and helping maintain our group of caregivers. GBF has graciously supplied our Tshirts for the group . Our caregivers need to know that someone cares and GBF has shown this.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

ask that more people volunteer for this worthy non-profit

Would you volunteer for this group again?

Definitely

For the time you spent, how much of an impact did you feel your work or activity had?

Life-changing

Did the organization use your time wisely?

Quite well

Would you recommend this group to a friend?

Definitely

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)

Yes I have met many new ladies that are going through the same life changing circumstances.

How did this volunteer experience make you feel?

It made me feel very good to reach out and help someone else. When people do this they are prone to forget their own problems. There is always someone out there much worse off then you. Sometimes it takes helping others to realize this.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2011

Role:  Volunteer & I founded and obtained support for the Caregiver group called the Steel Magnolias.
