Review for The Humane Society of the United States, Washington, DC, USA
The HSUS is a most valued organization that has brought the reality of cruelty to the forefront. Many will ctiricize their political agenda. While they do fund rescue efforts around the globe, one of their primary roles in the protection of animals is indeed to inact and when necessary change laws and statutes that give those who would commit vicious and inhumane acts upon God's creatures a legal loophole to operate. It is of paramount importance that this work be done. I commend the tireless efforts of Wayne Pacelle and his staff and I am happy to donate my money and time to give animals a place in the laws of this great nation.

One criticism has been that they do not spend a great deal of funds on actual shelter organizations. Perhaps the development of a specific wing of the agency and subsequent fundraising effort to go directly to shelters and adoption programs.
