Review for The Humane Society of the United States, Washington, DC, USA
It has been well documented that less than 3% of the donations received by HSUS actually go to helping animals. The rest goes to anti animal legislation and healthy paychecks to their employees. HSUS spends most of the donations it receives on things other than the actual care of animals. According to the Center for Consumer Freedom, after analyzing documents filed with the IRS, the HSUS collected $86 million in 2008 and — get this — gave only a half of 1 percent ($450,000) of that budget to the care of needy animals.
Furthermore, $20 million was allocated for legislation, litigation and campaigns. More than $24 million, which is 28 cents of every dollar received by HSUS, was spent on further fundraising!
Perhaps even more alarming is the fact that 41 HSUS employees were paid at least $100,000, and HSUS President Wayne Pacelle’s salary was more than $250,000.

This is a group worthy of donations.

This is not a charity and their non profit status is being investigated by the US Gov't. Almost none of the money they raise goes to help animals. They raise money to try to eliminate all animal ownership. Virtually all of the animals that they do rescue are euthanized. They are nothing more than a political group.
Please remove them from this group.
