My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for National Animal Interest Alliance, Portland, OR, USA
NAIA is a fantastic organization! It is all about animal welfare. It is also all about our rights and responsibilities as owners. It is not an animal rights organization that elevates animals above humans. NAIA uses common-sense approaches to today's issues of ownership and breeding of all animals. NAIA recognizes the huge role animals play in our lives. Few organizations today provide the balance between animal welfare and owner rights and responsibilites; NAIA does this exceptionally well. There is a lot of helpful and eye-opening information at their website. It is my go-to source for talking points when reviewing legislation., and deciding whether to oppose or support bills. I hope this organization continues to grow!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Being able to review legislation and work with legislators to support good bills, or oppose bad bills.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Make it larger, with many new members committed to saving our rights and relationships with our animals. We need more people to be involved in legislation!

What specific problem, purpose, priority, or project prompted your gift?
Daily we see our rights to own and/or breed our animals being removed. Unlawful seizures of animals that fly in the face of our Constitution-guaranteed rights to due process have me really concerned about our future. Will we have dogs and other pets? Will we have agricultural animals? Will we have the opportunity to see animals in a zoo where we learn how wonderful they are and get motivated to help them in the wild? Organizations like NAIA are working to ensure that we do, unlike the animal rights organizations that are bent on removing animals from our lives in every aspect. If I can help grow this organization, let it be heard across the nation, my donations are well spent!
Why did you make your donation at this time?
I donate annually as a member. The more funds NAIA has, the better they can get the 'word' out. Education the public on these issues takes money.
What would you tell others about this organization?
I would tell anyone that enjoys their pets, whether they are birds, fish, cats, dogs, horses, or reptiles that their support of NAIA will help ensure that we keep them and have them in the future. Their support of NAIA will also help ensure that we are allowed to make the choice in our diets to eat meat, dairy, egs, etc. Those that want to be vegetarian or vegan can do so. We should also have the right not to choose that life-style.
