My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation, Arlington, VA, USA
A year ago, my wife and I realized we were ready to invite a dog into the home. I had been a dog owner for almost my whole life, while my wife had never owned a dog before. We went to a Lost Dog event at the Reston PetSmart and met a bunch of the dogs, all of whom were fantastic, but we were waiting to find just the right one. After an hour of visiting dogs and talking with the staff, one of the volunteers who had been busy with other families brought over a little hound/terrier mix named Cara (she is Josie with us). The dog curled into my wife's lap and we knew right then and there that we wanted to bring her home with us. The interview process was great for making aware of the potential challenges we could face. I was really impressed with the service and the casual "don't feel pressured" environment. Go to this place if you want to meet tons of adorable dogs and cats or to get some experience around dogs as you search for the perfect pal.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I now have a fantastic dog who goes jogging with me and entertains me every day of the week!
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Make the online profiles more fleshed out. It would help some of the volunteers when they share information with potential adopters.
