I have sponsored children through ChildFund for the past five years, and my experience has been entirely positive. I stay updated on my three sponsored children--two in Uganda and one in Kenya--through regular letters from their family members, as they are too young to write themselves. Their letters leave no doubt that my sponsorship dollars are being put to good use in their families and communities.

I have occasionally seen the objection that ChildFund uses a larger percentage of donations for overhead costs than do other agencies. I have never objected to this--in fact, I chose ChildFund in part because they do prioritize the infrastructure of their work. Without good staff, solid relationships in partner countries, and a sound balance sheet, the mission would suffer.

Overall, I highly recommend ChildFund.
