Review for Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund, Fort Washington, PA, USA
I became familiar with The Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund, when requested to serve on Pennsylvania's State Pediatric and Palliative Care Task Force, as Co-Chair of the Patient and Family Issues, Sub-Committee. Peggy Dolan, the Dolan's Fund's Founder and Executive Director, was assigned to my Committee, and that's how we met.
I learned of the extraordinary lengths the Fund went to in order to provide advocacy, education, information and financial assistance to the uninsured needs of families caring for terminally, critically, chronically ill, seriously disabled or severely injured children throughout PA, NJ and DE. Having had a profoundly disabled sister, for whom I personally advocated during her entire life, I immediately understood and appreciated the deep level of compassion, understanding and services required to care for a loved one. The Dolan Fund, moves on a dime, helping and supporting families in crisis, over and beyond what appears humanly possible, and filling the ever- growing financial and emotional gap that families are facing each and every day.
I salute the work that The Dolan Fund, the void that it fills, their outstanding professional staff, committed army of volunteers for the difference they have made over the years, as they approach their 35th Anniversary, having served almost 20,000 families, in need.
The world needs more Peggy Dolan's, more Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Funds, helping and truly making a difference.

By watching, first hand, how Middle School students, from Long Branch, NJ, who read the People Magazine article, reached out, and were touched by the difference that The Dolan Fund had, and continues to make in the lives of so many in need. The students wrote to Peggy Dolan, and she reached out, and came to address their school, along with the Journalist who wrote the People Magazine article.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I would figure out a way to bring even more attention to The Kelly Anne Dolan Fund, so more families in need could benefit from the incredibly successful template they have created, on a National level.
