I am proud to say that Cooper City High's FFEA group will begin their fourth year mentoring students at Embassy Lakes Elementary. The materials are abundant, and the support staff (Heather)is efficent and helpful.A greater variety of books would be appreciated by my returning mentors!:) The program has enriched my high school mentors, and allowed them to earn valuable community service hours. For many it has provided career exploration. It has also provided individualized instruction that surely has increased the elementary students love of books, self esteem, and reading skills.Our program is fortunate to have an exceptional supportive partnership. Embassy's Principal, Mr Becker, encouraged the program by providing space, and a wonderfully talented and compassionate reading specialist,(Cheryl Retchin), to assist with identification of mentees, paperwork, and supervision!! The teamwork between the schools has made it an exceptional program!!
