Review for Christian Help Foundation Inc., Casselberry, FL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Christian HELP showed compassion and concern for my situation, and treated me like a real person during one of the most difficult times of my family's history. Every other organization, community or government based, made me feel like a criminal for applying for help, or made me jump through so many hoops, so many times that I was close to giving up on everything. Chrisitan HELP cared about me, helped me, guided me, and even when my needs were out of their scope, they assisted me with referrals and references to get what I needed. Not everybody is a crook or a lazy loafer, as some agencies make you feel. Christian HELP treated me better than family or friends and I credit them for providing me the food and resources - and motivation - to keep my family together until I could once again support them myself. I owe my family to Christian HELP.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Recieving food, job counseling, resume assistance and other resources. I have met with and been comforted and counseled by several members of the Christian HELP staff. They are tremendous from the top down to the bottom.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Open on Saturdays so I could volunteer. Now that I am working, I want to go in and volunteer, but their hours don't match my new job. This organization should be publicly recognized more, not just for what they do (because there are others that do what they do), but for HOW they do it, in a personal and caring manner.

How would you describe the help you got from this organization?

Life-changing

How likely are you to recommend this organization to a friend?

Definitely

How do you feel you were treated by this organization?

Very Well

How did you find this group?

Recommended by a friend. Although I knew of them before I needed them, I was hesitant to ask for help. Once I was convinced to go in, I was transformed by their kindness and caring.

What, if any, change in your life has this group encouraged?

They helped get me back to work, but mostly they opened my eyes to the real good that can be done by believing in people who are down on their luck.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2011

Role:  Client Served & I recieved food and advice, and after I found work, I volunteered to help them.
