Review for St. Joan Antida High School, Milwaukee, WI, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I wanted to attend a high school with a small student body and St. Joan Antida H. S. was the school I chose. I never regretted my choice. I got an excellent education. Sisters and other staff members were totally dedicated. I felt "at home" at SJA and in fact, it was my home-away-from-home. The clubs and activities helped me to hone skills and make lasting friends. The importance of prayer and values also had a great impact on my life. Ultimately I chose to join the Sisters of Charity of St. Joan Antida and after I completed my college degree I taught in the theology department for over 20 years. I also worked with the guidance department specializing in college counseling. I love the school. As Sisters of Charity we are dedicated to serving young women who have many hurdles to jump over -- many more than existed when I was a high school student. We continue to strive for excellence in our programs and do all that is humanly possible to touch the heart and life of each young woman who comes to St. Joan Antida. We continue to be a small high school where students benefit from more individual attention. Teachers and staff go the extra mile to help each young woman grow into an adult who is competent, confident and prepared to face the challenges that life offers.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

witnessing the transformation that takes place in a teenager who comes to us in 9th grade and graduates as a young woman who is filled with pride, knowledge and skills to face the future.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the family atmosphere -- everyone is welcome, everyone belongs.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

dedicated, creative and willing to go the extra mile because they truly believe in a Catholic education and the need for a school like St. Joan Antida. It's the only one of its kind in the state of Wisconsin.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

build a new building with state-of-the-art "everything" to enhance the educational experience of young women today.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week
